efficiency

and innovation

Tuijtel considers efficiency to be extremely important. Because we consciously choose to have all techniques and equipment in-house, we work very efficiently. Take design, lithography, printing, folding, stapling or finishing: we are not dependent on external parties. That is exceptional in the graphic landscape. It has given us our right to exist for 123 years. Furthermore, we are involved in the process from A to Z: from the receipt of the request up to and including the final product. In this way, we remain continuously on the ball. And when we do not have an expertise in-house, we draw on our network of professional, specialised parties.

We keep up the pace. That is possible with everything under one roof.

New robot

Tuijtel has purchased a robot to speed up the stacking of quires. We continue to invest in state-of-the-art machinery!

Our innovative capacity

Innovation is in every fibre of Tuijtel. Tuijtel always wants to renew and improve. In the long career of our company there are many examples that show our innovative entrepreneurship. As a pilot printer, for instance, we took a pioneering role in renewing the printing standards for ISO-12647 (version 2013). This latest printing standard (with extremely pure colour proofs) has been implemented at Tuijtel. Expensive press tests are thus a thing of the past. This means a considerable improvement in quality.

For many years, we have also been part of a leading international alliance of 12 independent market leaders within a specific segment of the graphics and communication industry throughout Europe. This alliance assures customers of unique production capacity, the highest degree of efficiency, continuity and expertise. At the same time, a great deal of research is required. We take up this gauntlet together with the aim of acquiring and maintaining a stable, future-proof and innovative market position.

Some of the innovations implemented:

  • 16% less power consumption thanks to 640 solar panels and LED lighting
  • 500,000 litres less water used through innovative systems and plate development machine
  • Shorter throughput times by purchasing two TX folding machines that fold three times faster
  • CO² emission scope 1 has decreased by 20% in recent years due to electric driving and conscious gas consumption (-2%)
  • Our unique residual waste system ensures 95% recyclability, 3% reuse and only 2% incineration
  • All our new machines are certified CO²-neutral in production
  • Our innovative colour management system reduces the ink layer thickness from 400% to 260% or 280% respectively
  • Cradle to cradle printing. Together with our 12 partners, we are investigating the possibility of developing circular raw materials (C2C).

Innovation & development

We follow the market closely and find it important to share our innovations and new, relevant product and market developments. In this way, you are always up-to-date and able to continue to anticipate.

Our market is erratic and shrinking rapidly. More and more parties, such as paper suppliers, binderies, finishing and mailing companies, are disappearing. Because we do not want to be dependent on fewer and fewer suppliers – and because we want to keep our high quality in our own hands – we have made considerable investments in recent years by bringing several disciplines in-house. These include brocade (glued or sewn) binding, die-cutting, foil printing and a super-modern stacking robot for our TX-folding machine.

Tuijtel continues to look for possibilities to laminate and pre-press orders in-house. We are also closely following developments in the field of nanotechnology and hybrid/digital printing. This innovation does not yet sufficiently meet our high demands in terms of quality and sustainability.

We are also carefully investigating a future certified cradle to cradle printing range for our customers. This concept is about products, which can be reused endlessly or which are harmlessly degradable in a circular economy. This is by far the purest form of sustainable procurement.

Transparent customer journey

Tuijtel recently invested in a new Management Information System (MIS). This enables us to link even more information and therefore work more efficiently. Apart from a considerable gain of time, this also provides insight into our processes and improves our communication with you. In other words, fewer ‘touch points’ and a more attractive ‘customer journey’.

The new system has another big advantage: thanks to a higher level of encryption, your (and also our) data is even more secure. Finally, we are also able to generate faster and more complete management reports for you. After all, measuring = knowing!

Innovation equals an attractive market position, which is why our machine park is very extensive and absolutely ‘state of the art’. From the very beginning – by the first founder of our family business – to the present day, we have been able to continue investing in the most modern means of production and process automation. This shows courage and above all the financial stability and innovative strength of our organisation. We have invested efficiently in order to be able to offer all necessary graphic disciplines from our own offices. We produce and distribute all products from one location.

What does this mean? It means that we control the quality control, planning, management and monitoring of the entire production process – including all sub-processes – and guarantee your quality 100%. This saves time and guarantees fast delivery at any desired location, day or time. We are not dependent on ‘third parties’ and that is unique in the Netherlands. Especially in this turbulent market.
